They are always ridiculously loud (like scared the crap out of me loud). But i am gonna keep an eye on this thread, as I would like to know if there is a way to make it less loud.
The screws used to seal up this cart are wood screws. Nobody is going to waste good wood screws on a bootleg, they'd just use cheap electronic screws instead.

You need a Papst 612F series fan. 612F/L recommended, but 612F/2 will suffice.

You will need to solderthe original cable from the CPS2 board onto the fan:

You can also use a resistance; this will make the fan spin slower and thus more quiet.

Or use a variable resistor and make youself a cheeky fan speed dial. :)

Now combine that with a random generator :awe:.

Stick a temperature gauge in there and let it set the fan speed for you. So much nicer than a dial :awe:

LoL what if i just removed it alltogether would that be ok. As it does not go in a arcade cab it just sits ontop of my desk so it would not overheat right :D

Eh... I'd still be hesitant to just remove it completely. Unless it was completely open, cover removed, in a location that you know always stays cool. But that might be me being overcautious.

if you are using it for a couple of hours or less at home then you don't need the fan. If it's going to be running inside a closed cab for 8 hours at a time, then you need the fan. Just unplug it from the motherboard

Same goes for Naomi
