What chip type is a naomi buffer chip?

Post by maxio098ui »

I was wondering what type of buffer chip is used on a naomi cart? any tips on where to find them would be grand

Thx
Max
The screws used to seal up this cart are wood screws. Nobody is going to waste good wood screws on a bootleg, they'd just use cheap electronic screws instead.

You'll have to be a bit more specific than that. What kind of buffers are you talking about? There are quite a few 74 series ICs that act as buffers 74244 and 74245 to start with as well as less commonly used ones.

Have you got a picture or the markings off the IC?

TSSOP package... Mouser has them.
I'm a cheap ****. I learned to repair things to save money... even surface mount soldering!

My repair logs have moved to here. Enjoy!

Ok finally found my glasses and some good light, It is a zero gunner 2 cart. there are 9 chips on the two connector side of the cart. Im assuming that those are the buffer chips? There are two types of chips within those nine. If i get a error 01, I would have to replace all 9?

5x LCX16245G
4X LCX16373G

According to Andy Error 1 has nought to do with the buffer chips mate. What exactly is wrong with the cart?

I may of mixed up the error but i know the cart has been run above 5.2V.

Yes, Error 01 can be caused by those pesky buffers...

Replace all of 'em.

I get so confused with the advice on this

One expert says:
if the buffers had gone the game would not function at all - error 02.
and another error 1. Flipping Naomi's...
