This thing, above the VGA port on the bottom, the 8 pin connector. Does anyone know what connector that is? I need two of them and a bunch of pins for my Otomedius stick overhaul.

Anyone know where to buy JST XHs that isn't directly from JST?

Dunno about the US, but for the UK you can pick up the XAP-08V-1 from here: http://uk.farnell.com/jsp/displayProduc ... 2-00001000" - min order of 10, which isn't that bad.

To be honest, since most of the less common JST connectors are only available for sale in bulk, for one-off custom jobs like this I just ask JST for a commercial sample.

I have that converter board and also the correct cable for it (only one, though). It has H-JSY written on top of it, however, I couldn't find anything with that model name.

JST XA is probably the right one, however, like you said, they're pretty hard to get.

It seems that there's a little bit of interest in these. I'd be willing to do a group buy if enough other people in the USA were interested in getting some connectors from JST, that is, if I can't find a hobby shop with them, it seems they're reasonably popular in the model <X> industry. (Sorry Europe/Aus/Asia/****, the shipping costs on tiny little pieces of plastic and matching pieces of metal are likely to be too high)

To make a custom harness for my Naomi, I needed some nice 22AWG wire and bought it from e-bay user wonderco_buy, http://myworld.ebay.com.au/wonderco_buy/.

The wires themselves were nice, 1 side slightly stripped and tinned, and the other one had a JST-XH pin on it (which I cut off since no use for me).

Search his store for "xh", and you might find what you need.

It's available in small quantities from all the big electronics distributors (Farnell, RS-Components, Digikey, etc.), there's no point in ordering thousands from JST. It's one of the most common and most ripped off connectors ever, there's plenty of Chinese clones:

In fact I really doubt the header on that POS converter is a genuine JST part.

While I'm inclined to agree for the POS converter, I am not inclined to agree about my Otomedius stick (Which is one of the other things these connectors turn up on). But it seems that people seem to need these in some capacity and JST's online shop says minimum orders are from 10, so it wouldn't be a huge bag of dicks to get about 20 or 30 of them.

Actually thats a dumb idea now, that guy on ebay is selling preterminated wires, board side plugs and wire side plugs in all sizes for XH. Honestly I'm likely to order from him at the prices he's selling this **** at.

If it's original it will have the JST logo on it (big on the header, very small on the housing). I know the PCB on the DC Agetec stick has clones and so do the Madcatz SE/TE Fightsticks.
