Forum questions, suggestions and bugs.
I've had my real life job performance review today, and have now got a bunch of SPOs (Specific Performance Objectives) for 2009.
I figure, why not do a similar thing here. Some objectives that you'd like to see happen here.
There are a few things that will happen before next year anyway, feedback on the forum is one big one I've promised but not yet delivered on, but what would you like to see happen here in the next 12 months or so?
Anything goes - little things, big things - lets get a list together of say 3-4 things that you want and see if we can do any or all of it!

Re: What do YOU want out of Arcade Otaku?
I would like it to be a proper website instead of just a forum incorprate the information from such sites as hard-candy, have information and tutorials, news, reviews available, that sort of thing.
of course, the absolute essentials - a decent place to chat, get advice and trade stuff is already well covered so im bloody glad the place exists!

Chat room, chat room, chat room.
Re: What do YOU want out of Arcade Otaku?
Dunno about that really, people can come for the advice, and stay for the community. Besides, in this hobby, its not like you would really want to not be part of a place where you can meet other like minded people, have access to quick advice and one of the best places to buy the gear.poolchamp wrote:E Have a min number of posts before you can ask a question in the repairs section as there habeen alot of newbies just wanting stuff fixed and not helping site out.....

Re: What do YOU want out of Arcade Otaku?
I'll get a chat room setup later tonight. Most likely will use IRC.
Don't know what IRC is? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IRC"
I will likely use a smaller network that offers services to make it noob-friendly and ensure we don't have downtime issues (read: I will not be using EFnet)
IRC clients are available for all OSes under the sun and can generally be had for free. See the wiki article.

No problem with you setting up an IRC chan - if you go ahead could you make sure it's on a network that's bot tolerant, so we can get everything logged?

I know it’s highly unikely, but I’d love to see some E29’s & other old school candy’s make it over here.

No NSFW section!
There will never be a NSFW section.
I'll try to get around to writing a couple of FAQs/Guides in the new year.
As for a more expansive site, I'm all for it but have seen in the past that these things tend to get neglected. If they're not updated then the forum leaves it kinda redundant. It would be nice to incorporate the two and allow a lot of user updates Wiki style.

Re: What do YOU want out of Arcade Otaku?
A stable place for useful technical reference documentation - but with the download/tutorial sections removed, I for one simply can't be bothered to contribute content.
I make and sell cool Arcade stuff, check out https://irkenlabs.com/ - In The Name of Science!
