Sleeping with it may affect the price though.

Cool, thanks for the info, Ralph. I've already ordered a new CPS2 battery. I opened it up last night and the inside looks different from all of the Progear PCB pictures I've seen on the internet. There is no daughter board like the one shown here: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_eMti2g5RHlo/T ... ar+PCB.JPG" .

I'm almost certain that it's not a boot, because it had never been opened before. I had to puncture the capcom seals to access the bolts to open the case, and it has the suicide battery. Has anyone else ever seen a legit Progear without the daughter board and CPS3 memory SIMMs?
WOW, I'd really like to see pictures of that bad boy!

Chances are its legit!

I've only ever heard of these but never seen any proof they exist.

Cheers d00d,

Ralph.

Found it thanks.

I'd say on balance that it is an original as Capcom were never tidy with their conversions. In fact they were a bit sloppy and "lazy" with them, but that's from a collector's POV.

Cheers,

Ralph.

£60-80? I saw one on eBay a while ago, can't remember exactly what it went for, but it was that ballpark I think. One of the tough to price stv titles which aren't as common as dirt.
