Xbox 360 MAME

Anyone here using it?, started using it today.
Its very good for a first version, played all the mame cave titles without much problem, DoDon Pachi, ran VERY smooth, as did ESP and Gwange, & Fever SOS. But Progear was not as good, emulation just don't look right. I put my astro on, (stood side by side with my 360's plasma.) run it on that on through mame, and looks fine, i have never played or owned the oringinal, is it suppose to look, Cartoonyyyyyy?

I use it and i love it, hopefully someone somewhere is working on the latest version 8-) . Thay also need to incorperate a favourites menu.

By the way, a regionfree patch was released yesterday, i flashed it to the xbr flash today onboard using flash360, took all of 12 secs to backup nand and appy patch. Deathsmiles runs from original disc now perfectly on my pal machine.

Jtag is the only way.
Played some more favs today, it even manages a very good version of Dragon Blaze. :D
BUT....... the app dont have Vertical Syn option yet, so there is some tearing on the screen, but maybe its because i'm running it in HD 1080i.
I shall try the Normal definition button on the lead, to see if it affects it.

Anyone figures out how to quit to another game yet?

does mame260 work fine with vgacable and a normal egret 3 screen? i am not sure but i think to remember that it just allows 480i,480p and 1080i or doesn't that matter? i don't wan't to kill anything.

i want to give the emu a try today, so could anyone answer my question before? :?

i installed it today and games running fine from internal hdd. but i can't join the edit function or settings to change buttons. any idea why? i use the devkit version, should i use the retail version on jtag pal xbox?

or any other ideas why i can't enter the options?

Cheers V-much m8, No wonder i could not find the correct config, using a Hori Fighting stiick, it dont have Thumbsticks, let alone the push down buttons on them (lol)

If your monitor is 31k, then set your 360 to 640x480 while connected to a normal monitor.

Tiz LEft trigger and Green button.

Worked straight away for me, on me arcade stick, no need for any config changes :D

thx guys. one more question. is it possible to edit the options.ini for 2 snap folders? fat32 can only handle 4096 and i got over 8000 snaps. and if so, how can i do that?

at the moment it is just: snapshot_directory = game:\snap

nevermind. deleted all useless snaps. 2 hours work but now 100% complete set :awe:

What version is this based on? is it 0.112?

* It's based on MAME 0.112 and is fairly easy to keep up-to-date (doesn't need any messing around with like Mameox on the xbox).
* Originally it was based on SDLMAME but I've since ported a 360 specific osd layer (so SDL for the 360 exists - as an aside I also have a port of ScummVM in the works too).
* Mame doesn't include any dynarec cpu emulation on anything other than an x86 platform. So any game that is PSX or N64 based for example doesn't run at all well.
* Most other stuff (that I've tried) runs pretty well.

Cheers guys! Such a long time since I've compiled a version of MAME, I forgot what a faff it was... nearly got a full set of 112 though... :D

grab a new fullset and a rom rollback set. use clrmame to rebuild and you got a 112er full set :awe:

Sort of what I'm doing but probably in a more cack-handed way!

There is actually a 0.112 set still available via torrent if anyone requires it. ;)
