Just downloaded the "final version" of 3rd Strike, I still don't really understand why New Gen is on one disc and 3s needs 2 (and the simm swapping thingy) Is it simply that 3s is a bigger game? :hinthint:

Disk 2 only needs to be used once...ever.

After you have written the code for SIMM 6 and put it in postion, you can change the games using disk 1. Even when installing a new update (the only thing that changes is the two program SIMMs, #1 and #2) there is no need to use disk 2.

All the other games that Darksoft converts will be single disks. :D

Cheers man

Is this the case even if I flash New Gen, then go back 3rd strike?

Yep, this is exactly the case.

Doesn't this knowledge make your life simpler? ;)

The ultimate target, as things are at present, is a custom BIOS, based upon a decrypted 3S BIOS re-encrypted to run on a dead 2I cart. That would of course support writing 3S from a single disc and would probably allow access to the utility menu too. I've just been dicking around with a few things right now, Darksoft has already looked into it and no doubt Leo will be interested too.

I think it's a bit early to speculate which bugs will/will not be present before the custom BIOS actually exists. ;)

True, but I thought darksoft thought this one was cart related.

=[ but what about midscreen unblockables?

I play a fair bit of Urien normally, but it's just not as fun on version B and I'm more likely to play another character (and it's usually something boring like Ken or Yun =p). I find it a bit disappointing to have learnt stuff like charge partitioning and some of the unblockable setups for them to have been thrown away in version B. Just my 2 cents anyway.

Looks like some good work with that menu idc =]

After a few rounds yeah. I play the game a ****-load though, and never on arcade mode.

I've never met anyone who plays Version B tbh.

Afraid you won't get much help with converting carts here, discussing it is against the forum rules. Suffice to say, there are no BIOS files in any of Darksoft's releases.

Interesting news. I also released the v1.0 version of the tool converter and a small surprise.
