Next i'll show you what i did with the manky Control panel....it was rusted and lexen decal was really tatty.
Also came with sunfaded pale pink & off white buttons...
Those factory colours were never going to be used on this particular restore...it demanded a touch of class!. :awe:

The control panel was a total mess...
So it had to be bare metal sanded with my air Orbital sander~ rattled back into the correct shape...as it was bent.
It's then Etch primed ready for super shiny 2k white...
It has to be spot on so the CP Decal has a perfect surface to adhere to, its done like this from factory on many Cabs...some use a different colour or its a chromed surface/bare metal.
2k candy gloss is as hard as glass once the hardner goes off..

Ok...i spent a bit of time on the shoddy control panel...very happy with the result! :D
IMG_20231107_132541.jpg
Care and attention fitting this decal...time & patience..just like fitting automotive window tint, use warm soapy water in a spray bottle & squegee out from the centre..carefully.
I'm impressed with the material..it has a mottle effect and very high quality...things have come a long way since my first Windy i did all those years back! 8-)
THE HOLES for the cp fixing coach bolts are already popped when it was re-manufactured...when fit 'correctly aligned' just oik out with a small blade edge.
You just have to cut out the button holes carefully using a new blade...when completed it looks like a brand new original panel from Konami themselves!! :-o

I purchased The Newish sanwa JLX's controllers-w'black shaft covers' for this....they feel as slick as hell, really nice feel to them.
Also picked up some skeleton buttons 'siemitsu' & lovely Bubbletops...sorry, i'm not putting up with those awful stock colours!..
IMG_20231108_130041.jpg
So now you see why the cp has to be properly prepared...bare metal etch primed & 2k sprayed..so the end result is spot on.
Also you never saw how wavy the cp was before i started...it has to sit completely flat in the cp recess...otherwise looks a dogs dinner!..so time spent making sure its formed back to how it used to be...its small details like this that make the finished cab.

Cheers Lee!.. I love Windy's.. and I wanted this one as close to perfection as I could possibly get it... I took Mark on his word about the monitor, zero burn and superb image.. I'm Very happy with the Toei monitor.tbh. Although it needed a going over and service.. There were a couple of faults easily sorted, I bought it as a project anyway...the chassis I took time with..
And the results are 100%...this cab 'like all my cabs' got the attention it deserved...It's same condition inside as outside!.
I'll be putting up more photos of the finished Windy soon.. Just waiting for the last cosmetic part.. But I'm playing it every other evening... It ain't gone bang yet! 🤣
Gone is the nicotine wiff!!... It feels and smells brand new! 🤓

Ok...finally got the parts to repair both my 'A' boards...usual sound loss issues when left off a day or so...super caps '5.5v 33uf...
I don't have many Cps2 arcade games...but funnily enough its the only ones i actually like and want to keep...i'm not interested in any darksoft crap tbh..only originality. :)
For me ..it don't get any better than this Windy mk#1 its loaded with just two of my 'essential' favourites...shoe horned into the limited space i have inside the actual machine...i was onto a winner!...got the 'riddled TV' jamma switcher that actual work amongst the **** switchers that are out there. :awe: 8-) 8-)
Special mention here to MarkedKiller for actually selling me this cab....he actually gave me this candy!..thanks man & merry xmas!...i've enjoyed this low -key 'easy restore'...its everything i could have wanted!..
Without further ado then....Oh, the monitor took a little time to fix...had a couple of easy to trace faults...'hey, it was an old project cab anyway...cheap, cheap!.
I'm certainly over the moon with this super slick project candy....thanks again Mark  :thumbupright:

Compared to my original Windy restore...this actually 'BLINDS IT' on every part i restored...i went out of my way big time...with this one..no expense spared..no short measures. :)

Too many photo's!!..
Cps2 in its early prototype stage!...plate was modded and alloy lost to make things fit & look 'Factory like'...i'm happy with the result.
This windy can handle all my favourites with ease.
