Sega Saturn console versions

Post by Pilgrim_Pramsta »

Hey all,

I'm looking at getting a Saturn and having it modded (sacrilege to some I know but I want an all-in-one solution). I've seen all sorts of versions on the 'bay: UK, US, Japanese standard versions, seethrough versions, limited editions, Victor versions etc.

Are there technical/performance/reliability etc differences between any of these, and if so what is the best version to get?

Thanks.

Model wise its just aesthetics really, nothing to worry about unless you're modding yourself. Region and 50/60Hz switches can be added to all models/regions afaik.

So what was the 'Victor V' Saturn (or whatever it was called) then? That was made by another manufacturer right? Was there anything special about it?

I love the look of the Skeleton version though I must admit.

I think the Victor Saturn came with the VCD & Picture Card built in.

Could be wrong though.

I have a white one at home cause it matches the aetshetics in the lounge better

I do also have a Black modded Pal one in the loft which needs a new plug adaptor in the console as it's come loose & now you cant plug the kettle lead in properly

Love my Saturn couldnt be without it now :)
