Woah! Yes please!
That rotate mech is awesome!!!
Interestingly it has an sd card slot on the side.... (ah! The extra controller with the track ball comes with track ball games on an sd card)

Re: Taito Egret II Mini
Looks really promising. Hoping the full 4:3 mock up is a sign of what the screen will actually look like.
It'd also be cool if that separate trackball panel is compatible with other stuff.

Re: Taito Egret II Mini
The trackball panel is a full sized controller. I thought it would be the same size as the mini cab and you could swap them in place of the joystick. Would be a marble sized track ball if that was the case.
Very cool like.

Re: Taito Egret II Mini
Taito just waited for the feedback on the Astro mini and then did all things right. They even upped the size a bit.
It's very much still catered for a Japanese audience with compact living though. Shelf display in the day, gaming machine hooked up to a TV during the night.

Re: Taito Egret II Mini
Is there a list of the 10 trackball/spinner games somewhere? I'm intrigued even though I play 90% fighting games, 9% swords and sorcery, and 1% anything else.

Not a full list, but partial here: https://www.theverge.com/2021/6/4/22518 ... price-dateLEGENOARYNINLIA wrote: ↑June 4th, 2021, 9:03 am Is there a list of the 10 trackball/spinner games somewhere? I'm intrigued even though I play 90% fighting games, 9% swords and sorcery, and 1% anything else.
There’ll be 40 games preloaded on the cabinet itself, and the expansion controller also includes an SD card with ten games that use the paddle or trackball. Here’s the list of titles that have been confirmed so far:
Space Invaders
Lunar Rescue
Qix
Elevator Action
Chack’n Pop
Bubble Bobble
Rastan Saga
Rainbow Islands Extra
New Zealand Story
Don Doko Don
Violence Fight
Cadash
Liquid Kids
Metal Black
Kaiser Knuckle
The paddle/trackball games so far confirmed for the bundled SD card include:
Strike Bowling
Arkanoid
Plump Pop
Syvalion
Cameltry
Arkanoid Returns

Re: Taito Egret II Mini
Presumably there’ll be some sweet vert shooters on there to take advantage of the rotated screen.
Tatsujin?
RayForce?
Gun Frontier...
The Sd card slot hopefully means it’s ripe for getting other non official games on there.

Re: Taito Egret II Mini
I wish Sega had put as much thought into theirs. This thing is awesome.
Both control panels are still really small compared to 'regular' joystick controllers. They're 240mm x 100mm, which makes the trackball not much larger than a ping pong ball.

Just have to hope the LCD has a decent resolution, and any scaling isn't bilinear...
