PSP: Ridge Racer
Fr me it's the ps1 version or nothing , I often see the PSP Ridge Racer mentioned but It just never felt right to me , and I've given it multiple tries. It looks good and everything but for some reason and not just limited to RR I find most racing games lacking *disconnected on handhelds. mario kart and maybe 1-2 *work for me *(i cant think of any others at the moment !)
Yeah but that’s “one game one system”. On the PSP I played that the most, obviously the best RR is type 4 on the PS1. The time I spent on T4 was well over all RR put together.

Mega Drive: The Super Shinobi 2 (or Elemental Master)
Mega CD: Bari-Arm
Super 32X: Virtua Racing Deluxe
Game Gear: GG Aleste II (or Pengo if price is a factor)
Saturn: Layer Section (or Panzer Dragoon Zwei if not an arcade port)
Dreamcast: Daytona USA 2001 (plus Steering Wheel)
PC Engine: Parasol Stars (HuCARD) or Spriggan (CD)
PS1: Einhänder
PS2: Some of the later Sega Ages 2500 volumes
PSP: Gokumakaimura Ka
PS4: Polybius
SNES: Contra Spirits (or R-Type III)
N64: Wave Race 64
GBA: Metroid Zero Mission
Gamecube: Metroid Prime (or Rogue Leader)
DS: Space Invaders Extreme 2 (with Paddle Controller)
Wii: Any of the SEGA lightgun games
Jaguar: Tempest 2000
Nuon: Tempest 3000
PS Vita: TXK
Amiga: The Chaos Engine
CD32: Overkill (& Lunar-C)
Neo Geo Pocket: SNK vs Capcom: Cardfighter's Clash
Vectrex: Protector
Wonderswan: Judgement Silversword (or Final Lap Special if you can find/afford it)
XBOX: OutRun 2006
XBOX 360: Gears of War 2

I did buy a bootleg Mega Drive Eliminate Down (and rubbed down the cartridge connector to be more like the official carts, which now slots in nicely). It's really good; just not worth what they're asking for an original.
I'm currently playing my old consoles via XRGB-3 connected to a PC VGA monitor and anything in 240P or thereabouts looks amazing, particularly when playing Saturn and PS2 games in TATE mode.

Missed MVS. Doh.
I'll go for Garou: Mark of the Wolves (over Viewpoint or Metal Slug)
NAOMI: Dead or Alive 2
C64: Uridium
Game & Watch: Oil Panic
Game Boy: Tetris
ZX Spectrum: Vectron
PS3: After Burner Climax (and Daytona USA is quite nice, even though I'm the only person not too keen on the music)

I saw PSP mentioned, I didnt add mine, and I think Ill go for Ridge Racer too.

From looking at SEGA stuff recently I never realised some of the games that came out on the GG like (I mentioned this before) Gunstar Heroes, also there were 2 Aleste games as well as other Mickey Mouse game - Land of Illusion and Legend of Illusion, guess I need to rethink my pick for the GG maybe.

Also unrelated but did anyone spot a Master System in a recent UK TV advert for Shell?

I really love Elemental Master, but I am a bit confused by people saying its a hard game. I almost 1ccd it my FIRST playthrough it.
I'm one of those folks who can't beat Lords of Thunder which people say is easy.

I happened to play quite a bit of '96 a week or two back and must say it's one of the most broken KOF games ever... so why?

its pretty :shifty:

And t just worked for me and limited gameplaying skills , I've never delved into the dynamics of it or any of the kofs to form an opinion on brokeness to be fair but from memory 97/99 where the ones that felt worse for me Maybe 2000 2001 as well cant remember playing 2002
so in order
96>98> 94 /95 > others then 97/99 for me anyway .I might actually spend time on them again one day to form a better opinion. i cant find my 96 aes cart though :( its in some box somewhere in the house. :problem:

to be fair all neo games seem somebit broken :P

The truth there, it's crazy how many games they pumped out every year, if they had eased up then we'd have much more solid games.

Thing is though, I will never play games so intensively as to find out all the broken bits, so I'm happy enough with them imperfectly playing but with so many cool little things in them.

For example ...

Image

I have somewhat of a soft spot for KOF 2001, why? Well, I am a big fan of AKIRA and they have a character called K9999, who is pretty much cloned from Tetsuo. Not only does he have some special moves based upon what happens to Testuo - the arm mutating and two different types of attack where he uses the force to deflect something ... but they also used the voice actor for Tetsuo for K9999 too, and use some sayings and quotes!

Unfortunately they had to drop him after the MVS/HomeCart version of KOF2002 (his character was swapped out in the console version, or a later console version).

KOF 2002 UM replaced him with Nameless. But K9999 is in all versions of regular 2002, even on consoles.

You can have SMW, I'll take F-ZERO.
