Re: Sega Astro City Mini
M2 aren't involved so the Model 1 emulation could be... interesting.
I've ordered one from Amazon. Would've thought twice if there were middleman fees to pay. Looks better than SNK's effort, that's for sure.

Re: Sega Astro City Mini
Why on earth did they not put the widescreen LCD vertically? The small bordered screen is terrible.

Re: Sega Astro City Mini
Innit, the dumb thing is it's probably a vertical screen in hori anyway, same as every single Chinese handheld nowadays.

Re: Sega Astro City Mini
meaning moving your head a few centimeters left or right will make it look like **** as opposed to up and down? I'm assuming they are using the cheapest piece of **** TN panels they can get their hands on for something like this.

Re: Sega Astro City Mini
I mean China is at least using decent screens in theirs, but you're probably right that would be the result.

Re: Sega Astro City Mini
You can actually switch Amazon.jp to English. It's the little flag next to the search bar.

Re: Sega Astro City Mini
I'm not buying one, but I watched the stream today as they announced more titles. Original Wonderboy was the nicest surprise, in my opinion. I'm hoping for Quartet and Burning Rival because why not.
Emulation's nice when done well

With the base it still looks like a way out of proportion abomination that doesn't look as much as an actual astro as it should.

Re: Sega Astro City Mini
While its kewl that they're actually using the Arcade versions instead of the console games, I think they missed a trick here. They should have made 2 packages;
Regular - HSS-0136 recreation that also could be used as a usb stick, or daisy chained with other regular/deluxe for multi.
Deluxe - HSS-0130 recreation, same as above, just with the 2P12B layout.
I definately would be interested then, but this is a little too expensive for what will most likely just fill shelf space. (And that screen! )

B-boppin' and Ploppin', Jackin' and Whackin', Windmill Providin' ...

Re: Sega Astro City Mini
Thunder Force AC... Wasn't expecting that.
The arcade stick looks ok, not ¥12,800 worth of ok though.
