Re: Sega Astro City Mini
Anyone ever returned anything to Amazon Japan? I assume it's not worth the expense. I wonder what happens if I refuse the delivery?

Haha that lag, I suppose it's the perfect tool to show lag to someone
<trk>:I remember catching a big fat one and my friend said "throw it back in, that one already tastes like wood"

Re: Sega Astro City Mini
Not that I advocate such scumbaggery, but I suspect if you claim it is defective, Amazon will eat the return shipping.
I do wonder though if you can simply ship it back to a local return center as it would seem to me that Amazon, being the cost-conscious company that they are, would facilitate this versus paying for you to ship it overseas.
That input lag is something else though. Good grief.

Re: Sega Astro City Mini
For international orders, it has to go back via DHL express. From the UK it’s £77
I’ve asked if Amazon will refund the shipping cost

Re: Sega Astro City Mini
Supposedly things improve if you use 5V 2.1A power but I’ve yet to try this personally.

Re: Sega Astro City Mini
Doesn't make any difference, multiple people (notably Mike Moffitt) tested that theory to confirm/disprove. You can check his other recent tweets for more details.

Re: Sega Astro City Mini
Interestingly the West’s version of the Egret Mini was delayed so they could sort the power issue out. They reckon it doesn’t function correctly with less than a 2.4A supply rather than 2.1A. Anyone tried 2.4 on the Astro?
Edit: ah just seen above he tested to 3A

Re: Sega Astro City Mini
The Egret II "issue" was more of a "misunderstanding"" (i.e. people didn't read the manual) than an actual problem. The original documentation in the Japanese version (I own a launch day version) tells you that you need to use a power supply with at least 2.4A. It's also worth noting that the E2 Mini uses USB-C which has a higher amp rating than USB Micro does.

Re: Sega Astro City Mini
That’s interesting info, thank you. Oh well, I can’t see we’ll get an update on the Astro V. What a shame.kazuo wrote: ↑August 16th, 2022, 4:56 am The Egret II "issue" was more of a "misunderstanding"" (i.e. people didn't read the manual) than an actual problem. Re: Sega Astro City Mini
Had my Astro City Mini for a couple of months now. Was a Christmas present and came in a bundle with two fo the controllers.
I think it is a great mini system, with a nice varied selection of games. The controller is great too - the d-pad is fantastic.
Really enioyed it so far and I think I will get the Astro City Mini V soon too.

Why are some of these listed with 22 games & others 37?
