Yeah. I haven't even ordered a controller as I can't see myself bothering to hook this up to a TV. It'll just sit around looking cool.

Re: Sega Astro City Mini
The stick is a VSHG sans 3 buttons. The only bad thing about it is the price, compared to how cheap the VSHG was 13 years ago.

Re: Sega Astro City Mini
That is quite nice, but I wish they had styled the design of the plastic like it was part of the plastic astro panel assembly.

Re: Sega Astro City Mini
It'll probably only work with the AC Mini, maybe PC if you're lucky, but an Astro City branded VSHG is certainly worth the effort modding the PCB for your console of choice IMO.

Re: Sega Astro City Mini
I'd be lying if I said I didn't want one.. of each The $250 range doesn't seem so bad, I hope the only way to get one stateside isn't paying insane markups on ebay/yahoo auction/etc.
Had to laugh at them marketing this to the middle age guy who wants to relive his childhood, instead of marketing it towards him to let his kids use. Am I nuts to think it would makes more sense showing a kid playing, rather than a lonely old man
They should have made the pink NAC in tate and had some non-SEGA games.
Maybe it has all the same games, I dunno.

Re: Sega Astro City Mini
Yes. I wouldn't know any kid even remotely interested in this. It's literally made as shelf-filling for the lonely old man.
The more detail you see of it the uglier it looks, for example the speaker grille. This chap seems to have done a lot better job than sega themselves (excluding the dustwasher)

Re: Sega Astro City Mini
@arcnl Sure, but wasn't that mini-Astro around $1000 and not exactly mass-produced?
I'm usually going to care too much about a cheap looking speaker grill on SEGA's version. It's just a toy.

Re: Sega Astro City Mini
The thing that irritates me is the double frame for the screen
On top of that add black columns to play 4:3 games on a 16:9 screen.
But, I must confess that the mini NAC is growing on me
