Seeing this definately sparked some nostalgia for me.

I bought this instead of a Game Boy and I think I used a toiletry bag as a carry case.

I wanted the Game Gear and not a Game Boy because it was full colour and not difficult to see the screen (I've always had terrible eyesight).

I really wanted and got Castle of Illusion and Space Harrier. I think they were my fave games and the first games I ever completed.

I'm sure I had Sonic, as well as Super Monaco, but they were average games (never really got into Sonic). Can't remember what else I had although I am sure that I didnt have that many games.

Beleive it or not, whilst the battery life was a pain, I worked round that, by getting an AC adapter (which also fitted in my carry bag), and I am sure (but can't be certain) that I bought a load of rechargable batteries and two chargers. I do see people writing off this ad the Lynx and GT for being battery burners, and whilst that was true, it was in reality a minor concern and not as big (for me) as it is made out. You made your choice and you found ways to enjoy the system.

Not sure why I got rid of it, most likely i traded it. I remember at the time someone wanted to trade me a GB with a nunch of games, but I was never tempted.

Only with the backlight DMG solution can I now enjoy the Game Boy and it's games, and i am not sure I would pick up another Game Gear, but I am more tempted to get myself a Master System.

As for the GGm, well I also wish it was just a little bit bigger, but at the same time it would make a cool key ring.

I think I will definately get one, if I see one discounted for sure.

* This is a much-reduced post beleive it or not. I didn't post the even larger rambling essay about the Game Gear I was typing last night.

A Master System? Now you're talking. Other than the GB its the only cart based system Im tempted to rebuy and build a collection for yet I've no idea why.

Games are superb but... system itself is not ideal to play on.

I'm a massive Sega fan and I am disappointed with the GG Micro. It looks like the only thing it will give you is hand cramp and eye strain. They should have made it in a form factor similar to the original, maybe a bit smaller, nice screen, rechargeable battery and loaded it with as much IP as they have the rights for in the GG/MS library. Even if it cost more I think they would get more sales from it.

Most likely in house, just like the Mega Drive Mini. I think they learned their lesson with AtGames.

Def getting one, when the price comes down.

They are ridiculously impractical, a little bit larger and a few more games and they would be amazing, but nonetheless they are really cute and why not?

Got the white Aleste Collection GG Micro today, and the so called "SEGA Big Window" almost makes it playable. GG Aleste 3 is fairly awesome even on such a tiny screen.
Not tried the PS4 versions of the games yet...

How's the big window? On youtube it just looks like a box that doesn't actually magnify?
