What's the difference between the standard MVS and Arcade Operator's Edition?

Is the defaut MVS cart set to freeplay?

It's very early in development. I've nothing but admiration for anyone making new MVS games and I'd like to support it (price isn't unreasonable) but the timing sucks for me. Might see how it's doing in a couple of weeks.

yeah its nice to see stuff being put out in physical format for arcade, but this is more like a proof of concept for something rather than an alpha build going to beta (i think thats when stuff should be going to crowdfunding etc). also theres nothing i can see about previous projects completed or worked on and looks more like a cheap digital distribution game in its present state

A vertical MVS game? Does not compute. :crazy:

edit: ok I realize maybe they're only running the prototyp on vertical screen in the video.

This will be the second vertically aligned shmup for NEO-GEO. NG-DEV made the first one. ;)

By treating it as a horizontally scrolling shooter, rotating the controls and the graphics layered on top of the game (bomb stock, score counter). It's not a great undertaking, I'm sure the devs of Project Neon will do this as well.

It's just wrong though isn't it. What shmups fan doesn't have tate?

Neo XYX is a fine game. Just edges Kraut Buster as NG DEV's best IMO.
