I can get over the silly shape of the controller, but I hate that they have made the buttons match the logo making them disappear :problem: :wtf:

I can't believe they used the COM portion of CapCOM for the 2P controls. Looks like it would just chew your wrists up

Spectre wrote: October 30th, 2019, 3:44 pm Am I the only person who doesn't hate this? I mean yeah, for the price, I want the entire CPS 1&2 library (the important bits anyway). But it's not a terrible product, it seems decently built and the emulation is good. I don't think us lunatics who own cabs are the target audience, although the price will be eye-watering for mere mortals.

I bet it comes down in price when the stock won't shift. At £100 I might even be tempted.

I got one of these and love it. I like the bold design. I think it's great. I like the high score competition. I play Ghouls N Ghosts on it loads. The hardware is pretty much perfect (no compromises). The only problem I noticed was the music drop out issue and that should be fixed next update. This was my favourite piece of hardware I purchased last year and put a big smile on my face.

I'm sure it won't be to everyone's tastes but not sure why the general negativity over this.

It really doesn't matter - Imagine Ghouls n Ghosts - Fire and Jump. SFII - 3 punch buttons top row, 3 kick button bottom row. You don't need the buttons to be marked. You don't have time to look at them before you press them when you are playing. It's a non-issue. The important thing was that the crazy design wasn't compromised ;)

Although.....if you are playing a game that uses the bottom row only - it can get uncomfortable not having something to rest your wrist on. I have asked for an option to switch to the top row, so hoping it might happen. Again it's not a major problem because you can just use a cushion.

Yeah, but if the case was just a regular slab it would be more comfortable, there's no denying that. The case is very much form over function.

Happy to hear the emulation is good though.

The thing is - it's so huge and could unbalance so that you have to set it up carefully anyway so putting a cushion or whatever down isn't really anything extra. I'd still take that design over an anonymous slab. It does look and feel expensive when you have it in front of you.

It's not perfect yet (the menu is clunky and no scanlines) but there is a new update out soon which adds a lot of features including scanlines and fixes that music bug.

I also bought a Neo Geo mini last year and the Capcom machine is just way better. For example - the Neo geo mini is just a lump of moulded plastic, has a terrible joystick and awful HDMI output. I do like the NG as a novelty but I think people hate on the Cacpcom system more than they should do.

These can be found at the £100 mark now.

Wonder who will be first to take the custom buttons etc and integrate into a cab control panel...
