Pretty impressive yeah and cool of M2 to include it.

Again, all the games can be seen here:

I'm really impressed with the game selection. Sure there's tons of good games missing, but as always with these things it would have been impossible to include absolutely everything. Some games probably would have been a licensing nightmare like Sonic 3.

Also, how cool are the props:

Added plastic that has absolutely no functional value. Pretty much like the real things (well, S&K excluded).

What surprises me is Tetris, as that cart was basically pulled before reaching store shelves due to licensing issues back in the day. It's super rare so it's arguably not even a classic MD game. Super cool that they included it anyway though (and indicative of potential relaxing of Tetris Company's draconian rules).

The included version of Tetris isn't the infamously-canned one. It's a new version by M2, based on the System 16 version without any of the old version's flaws or space limitations.

I guess it would have been too expensive to actually make those functional; but why not make the MD updatable via USB and include download codes for Mega CD and 32X games with that tower of nonsense? I don't understand why anybody would spend so much money on useless plastic...

Not sure if this has been confirmed elsewhere, but here's a screen grab from the latest Digital Foundry video where they talk about CRT monitors. :awe:

EDIT: They just used the monitor settings to make the image fit. :(

Oh, I forgot to mention. I tried this with a CRT monitor using a HDMI to VGA dongle and it's surprisingly easy to set up to fill the screen.

I wonder if the new 6 button Astro mini gamepad works with the MD mini?

MD mini was released three years ago in 2019. So they're hardly milking it. In an interview Sega admitted that they considered other consoles for the mini treatment, but because of the pandemic it would be too expensive and risky to develop something entirely new. So, they went with MD2. And even that was halted at one point because of manufacturing difficulties, but they resumed production and will produce a much smaller batch than with the first one.

50 games is a lot. I'm eager to see what they pick. We'll probably see some 32X games as well.

So, another batch of games were revealed today. Including games that will support a USB version of the Cyber Stick.

I bet no one was expecting that!
