I posted micro vs 101 in a private sext message to you many moons ago :fastlove:

I genuinely don’t play Mario on the 101, it’s so awful compared to the micro

It (and the GB/GBC) are 4x so clean and crisp.

GB is smaller, GBA is bigger. I know which I would prefer.

I’d fire it in a new shell. Less hassle and **** about. They cone with a clever dual dildo ribbon cable too

Edit. I like a lot of others are waiting on the analogue pocket to cover all handheld needs

Ah, your micro is in my special inbox.

The pocketlog does look great. I love the 10x resolution so it’ll be able to emulate 80’s LCD matrix ****.

I've got a GBA with one of the new IPS screens. It looks great. I've never seen an AGS101 screen in the flesh to compare. I've only got my GBAsp AGS001 to compare which now looks a bit pants

I've just done some side by side, using Robocod and SMB3.

My 101 screen is a last year Chinese one, my Micro is an original.

101 has more saturated colours and much better contrast, with a warmer tone compared to the Micro's cool tone. The Micro looks quite washed out in comparison. The 101 looks identical to the colour/contrast output from my Game Boy Player. The Micro on brightness level 2 (it goes to 5) is the same as the 101 - I didn't do the work to make the 101 any brighter.

In terms of motion blur... it's pretty obvious on both units. If anything I'd say the Micro was slightly worse - and quite a bit worse in Robocod where you've got backgrounds with large plain dark areas, there's noticeably longer image persistence of the brighter details.

I tried Links Awakening as well, and in all honesty I think my clone 101 is slightly better than pubjoes footage but without having it side by side it's too tough a call to make.

Just for giggles I checked a backlit DMG. Yep, 3-4x as much motion blur.

The clone 101 wins it for me.

Here's some 60fps SMB3 footage: https://mega.nz/file/AqY3nYCZ#_aYHw_HCB ... 52ox-_-nXQ

Installed “RIPS v3” on a DMG that has a faulty screen. I’m pretty impressed. Easy to install too. Little vid...

I picked this one up (actually got the boxed version but I like to keep the games in the cassette cases as its easier to just pick up and play). Not a bad effort but I found it does get very confusing navigating the game, theres a lot of back tracking and no map included.
The battery keeps running dry for me also, not sure why but overall the quality of the box and manual is pretty good.
I see they are doing a second run at the moment aswell.

It's an aftermarket shell by retrosix, probably just don't want Nintendo breathing down their necks. https://retrosix.co.uk/Game-Boy-Origina ... 215676062
They had their own tooling made with the screen modified to house the ips screens and the battery compartment can house the clean juice battery pack without modification. Pretty good quality.

Handheld looks great but realistically i think it will join the rest of the emulation handhelds in a shelf somewhere. As illogical as it is i have more fun picking up an original (screenmodded) dmg or agb

Not illogical at all. I love my DMG and pile of AGBAGS. Let’s be honest though, the shelf loves them just as much as things like this.

Tbh I bought it specifically for Pico 8, which has been a nice way to learn simple game programming in LUA for my lad and myself. Better use of time than the school’s daily word search anyway.

https://www.lexaloffle.com/pico-8.php

As a bonus, it happens to be much better than I had my expectations set for. Most people might prefer the RG350 which has a landscape style form with analogue sticks. The 280 is cute though. Perfect fit for Pico games.

And, you know, it’s fifty quid.

I just did the SMB3 test and theres no ghosting problem that I can see.
