I'm holding out for whatever they come up with next/soon. If pubjoe's happy with that, my tipping point is there. Can't be one of those though, the form is just too small for me.

Tempted to get one of them too.

Admittedly, the AliExpress seller I tried said he didn’t have stock after I’d paid. There were plenty of other sellers around £50 (after shipping and tax) but before I tried I got this one from an ebay seller with a £55 offer.

I dunno how it works with the multiple sellers on AliExpress. If one has no stock, do the others?

I wrote a load of stuff the other night but my browser crashed

Picked up an RG350M the other day, based on this video:

I disagree with his chosen video settings, but RetroArch with bicubic scaling, Normal2x filter and keep aspect ratio off is IMO pixel perfect fractional scaling. All those systems that run something that's not a multiple of 320x240: GB, GBC, GBA, PCE, SNES, SMS etc, can be ran full screen without descending into blurovision.

The device isn't perfect, but then a Switch isn't perfect either. However for 8-bit and 16-bit emulation on a handheld I'm absolutely satisfied. Gorgeous display, stereo speakers, good controls, and enough power to run that era well.

Finally got around to modding one of my (many) Wonderswans.

It had the usual issue with not powering on, which is just a contact issue that can be resolved with some stick-on product that is available on ebay (ButtonWorx), or you could just build up the carbon on the rubber membranes, but the stickers are pretty good and cheap.

Installed an IPS and after owning a couple of variations of modded 'lit' Wonderswans, this really is light years ahead of the rest.

Oh yeah also recently got a GBL, because, why not?

So, what's the best IPS screen for GBAs and does anyone have experience with the FunnyPlaying screens for the original GB and GB Pocket? I'm interested but can't choose what to get. I even said I'm not getting a GBA until I saw V-Rally 3 running on one in a video.
Emulation's nice when done well

You don't want an IPS. Especially for the GB MK ports.

How are those "retro pixel" ips screens? I haven't seen any of those in the flesh yet

I lost this five years ago. Last time I remember seeing it was in my youngest's hands on a train so I was sure it was a goner. I just found it in a box of crap under the stairs. Battery still charged. :awe:
