Moderators please remove if don`t follow the rules

I bought a japanese xbox 360 console in 2009, I also got all the shmups catalogue.. while it still works right I know it can break anytime being the fat version.
Never thought before in a backup unit, but getting a new or pristine Japanese slim console is getting scarce nowadays.

My question is: Is there any reliable type of modding (soft/hard) that allows to play any region games and also from from USB or HDD.
