Stumbled upon something just now that may have been an inspiration for Allen Snider. :awe:

Yeah I think that style of the clothing in the new game is a reference to some of the OTT US Karate fighters from way back and I would prefer Lewis over Norris (which is mean't to be the inspiration).

It seems Allen looks like Cobra, at least his hairstyle.

The current version of Allen has similar facial features to Joe Lewis. He's an amalgam of various sources, like most fighting game characters.

On the TGS stream they showed off Allen and also revealed Doctrine Dark is going to be in the game. He has a new armour and looks even crazier than before.

EDIT: Here's a super short teaser for D. Dark.

Bought this without reading any reviews out of curiosity and a show of support for Arika. Seems a decent SF inspired fighter but there is no VS CPU mode let alone an arcade mode or story mode, basically they skipped programming AI altogether! I jumped online and couldn't find an unranked match for love nor money, eventually got a ranked one and got my **** duly handed to me.

So basically don't buy this unless you've got someone to play against.

I heard you can do a 100 man kumite in the training mode, if that's any help.

I’ve only just realised the abbreviation for this is FLEX.

I watched some vids of this with my SFEX fanmt8s (who are SFEXing it up in my lounge right now :fastlove: ) and it looks absolutely great. Looks better flowing than SFIV and V tbh. Shame I got rid of the PS4.

Terry Bogard... It’s useful to have a familiar character to draw people in I guess. Capcom lent Ryu to Nintendo, so it’d be nice to see a SF character in too but there’s probably no chance.
Wikipedia wrote:Over the years, Arika pitched multiple ideas to Capcom for a new entry in EX series, including a demo they created for a Nintendo 3DS game. However, none of the pitches were successful.
I think it’s a real shame Capcom went all in with Dimps instead.

Would have liked to see that 3DS game.

Next up Mr Blobby added for SFV.

The official name of the game is Fighting EX Layer. :awe:

I'll get it if it comes to Switch. The only problem I have with the game is the Gougi system, which gives me this Korean online F2P game vibe. But, as soon as an interesting fighting game comes for that system I'll buy one. I can't justify getting a console just for one game and if it doesn't have those Nintendo exclusives.

I’m in the same boat. Could do well on the Switch. Large enough audience and little competition.

It’s coming to PC though. I’ll get that if it hasn’t been announced for Switch by then.

The Gougi System is news to me. Power up cards. I know what you mean. Something I’d probably turn off given the option.

Has it been confirmed it's coming to PC? Or is that just am assumption based on the arcade version announcement?

About Terry... I know they picked him because he's really popular not only in Japan but also overseas. Still, I think it's a wasted opportunity not to pick an SNK character who also hasn't been seen in 15+ years like the EX guys. Jin Fu-Ha or someone from Savage Reign or World Heroes would have made it really hard for me to resist.

A wasted opportunity to get only you to buy it. :whoopsie:

My mate told me it was coming out on PC but now you mention it, no, it’s not definite.
