That 8-Bit TV show... somebody kill me!
Did anyone watch this? Argh, I was so excited to see it - couldnt even make it to the end. Tekken match was such a kick punch kick joke!
Here to represent new style VEWLIX arcade fans. Both of you.

I didn't bother to watch it. Even from the adverts I kind of assumed it wasn't a serious gaming show. Just people who agent big gamers dicking around on a few games consoles

I don't like it specifically...but here's the thing - I wish it wasn't the exception, i.e. other representations of games on tv.
For example, I bet there's millions of trivia fans who can't bear 95% of the quiz shows on tv, but among all the trash shows there's the ones they do like... On terrestrial uk tv is this the only games based show around at the moment? Sure it's fine to say streaming's got you covered better than traditional broadcast tv, but it still seems in terms of cultural cache games - although more at the forefront - games as a subject are still somewhat the preserve of not just the geeky but also the odd/different.
I wish we could get a games show with that 90's-future-bitmap-bros interface... not the second run or whatever it was, but you know what I think I might actually enjoy a new Dominik Diamond type ... he actually seemed 'up for it', without being all earnest or too invested - maybe that was the coke

I knew this was going to be poor.
I did watch it all the way through but didn't enjoy it at all - It's good these shows exist I guess and hopefully if it gets enough views others might try?

I watch Dave a lot and I loved it. I kinda knew what to expect and it is exactly that.
I can't believe people were expecting a serious video gaming show.

Sure, but I think they might have hoped for better, more kind of upfront/honest/chat/banter than the cringing pain of the end result. Even the set, and delivery from O'Briain seems kind of badly realised... which is a shame because at least O'Briain is a known (albeit fairly casual) funny guy who plays computer games - but he seems to letting that reputation (if it was true) die on the vine... maybe he was just always just schilling for presenting gigs, but I'd like to think this isn't entirely as he wanted it... Seeing nfl players play pokemon on that pre-season hard knocks seems more fun/honest than this.AeroCityMayor wrote:I watch Dave a lot and I loved it. Anyway. Yeah some is better than none. Let's just hope we get some more, and better.
