STARFORCE PI a minicab project on Kickstarter
Did you see this?

I think it really looks awesome! The retro tabletop design is a great choice.
It's something really different to the **** weecade nanocade and similar...

Trust me, I have tried, but I just can't stop myself for facepalming every time I see sticks mounted that high.
Emulation's nice when done well

That's actually kinda cool. I appreciate what angle they're going for here, with the portability and battery power. It's not trying to be like other home-built minicabs. The LCD might be low-res but it's 4:3 and most impressively can even tate it.
Would like to see what a Sanwa looks like mounted on it though. That other (presumably American-made) stick does look a bit tall. Also would be nice to have the option of Sanwa buttons.

It's not 4:3, it's 16:9 being run in 4:3.

Oh, I misread that. I thought it said the LCD itself was. Weh.

It's fully customizable, you can even buy it without joystick buttons and raspDache wrote:Would like to see what a Sanwa looks like mounted on it though. That other (presumably American-made) stick does look a bit tall. Also would be nice to have the option of Sanwa buttons.

I've had a whole bunch of 320x240 emulation devices and hated the screen every time. You either restrict yourself to <=320 wide games or put up with it looking ****.
Assuming the screen has >320 pixels actually (384 would be great) and you can run up to the full screen resolution (wrong aspect ratio but no scaling), I'd be a bit more accepting.

I like the look of it but agree the joystick needs shortening, could do with a bigger screen also. The other thing I can see being a problem is there is no room to rest your palms on the CP, So I think it may get uncomfortable after a long session, But I suppose it still needs to be kept compact somewhat.

Not appealing to me whatsoever. The price point is ridiculous for something like this. I'd rather invest that money in to another candy cab .
