I love Coc, but I can’t think of any other game where I feel worse at it four years after starting.

They made any effort to fix war matching yet? Does TH12 have a build-everything-to-upgrade restriction?

It's been hinted at. Someone on SC forums asked if they would put in that restriction and Darian said something along the lines of "you'll be happy with what we're doing", so maybe. Also the big TH12 defence is built into the TH so going up and not dropping it is not an option.

The update is expected mid-June, as they only announced it yesterday they haven't given out too many details yet.

It's confirmed that you will now need to drop every building in order to upgrade TH (BB style) at every TH level. No going up to TH10 without xbows or TH11 without infernoes. It's not yet clear how this will affect existing engineered/rushed bases. They've said there will be changes to war matchmaking, I'm guessing a min war weight for every TH level that assumes you have every building even if you don't. Hopefully they do more than that though, so engineering doesn't just shift to being level 1 defences across the board.

Lv1 defences is all that matters. Upgrades minimal weight in comparison. Thats a fix I wanted for a long time. Doing that in conjunction with a new Town Hall is the only way it would work, glad they're going down that road.

Not saying i'm reinstalling yet, I dont really have time to spend at the moment, but that was an absolutely essential move that should have been taken back in 2015.

Update looks likely to drop on Monday. They're certainly shaking things up a bit this time, full list here. Siege machines look awesome. New dragon is probably OP

Out of curiosity and boredom I reinstalled today and managed to remember my SuperCell ID. Village is gone. Increased barbarian train time = 7mins of waiting before anything interesting can happen.

Uninstalled.

I gradually lost enjoyment after getting to a level that demanded more effort than I wanted to give anymore.

But the specific thing that absolutely killed it for me was when they introduced the constant rewards a couple of years ago. Lots of free loot and instant builds that saved you hours of grinding. All you had to do was participate, claim and then use them. It was obviously a good thing but I always forgot to use them, which destroyed any remaining feeling of commitment and time investment. Why bother saving pennies anymore when I keep throwing away free pounds?

Then again, a friend of mine loves it more than ever now. He was playing for years in dribs and drabs, but is now on it every day and has started taking wars seriously. He does all the reward stuff which has been expanded on even more, and he pays £5 a month which buys a whole bunch of bonuses that would have cost a fortune on the old pricing.

I'm still playing. Maybe 2 or 3 attacks a day. Nearly maxed TH12

I was almost tempted to get back into it with the TH13 update, but SC have decided to start being a dick about upgrade times. They're as high as 18 days now, and will no doubt get worse now they've decided that 14 days isn't a hard limit any more. So they can get ****ed

Fair enough, except they did add instant complete books, hammers and time/cost discounts for just playing.
