Re: Clash of Clans
Might give this a go tomorrow. Should I join the clan right away or should I work out what the **** I'm doing first?

Re: Clash of Clans
I'm just building up my village (defence, income generators and army) at the minute and still finding my feet really. I'm miles behind everyone else but thoroughly enjoying working my way up.
I'd recommend joining the clan as soon as you can for tips, advice, reinforcements and adult chat . You'll have to rebuild your Clan Castle first (just tap on it for the option to rebuild) but it doesn't take long if you focus on it.

Re: Clash of Clans
Idiot-tip: before occupying a builder with an upgrade take a note of the cost, then upgrade walls/remove obstacles leaving enough loot remaining for the upgrade.
I frequently forget this.

Re: Clash of Clans
Okay, well, I'm up and running. Got 3 builders, concentrating on resource production and storage so I can rebuild my clan castle asap. **** goblins while I wait...

Re: Clash of Clans
I've been playing on my own. To be honest I've been a bit hooked for the last couple of days and have spent £17 on gems to hurry things along (don't judge me). I do own 4 builders though so I spent most wisely.
I'm kind of feeling like it's a bad habit more than actual enjoyment at the moment. I'm hoping clan action will change that.

Re: Clash of Clans
One thing which heavily encouraged me to spend was the single player campaign. I was progressing slowly but surely with barbarians and archers, then all of a sudden hit a wall (Fort Knobs and Fool's Gold) where I needed a huge amount of upgrades ...Gold farms, elixer farms, town hall, barracks, then I gained giants but the levels are still impossible... Do it all again to gain goblins - still not enough... Do it all again for skeletons - not enough ...Do it all again for balloons and it's FINALLY enough to progress.
Shield ran out today (3 days in. Thought it was a week?). Just looked at my phone and I've been attacked twice.

Re: Clash of Clans
The 1P campaign is only useful on the final levels, the rewards go up exponentially. Its also extremely difficult to complete Worth working through to learn your troops abilities though.
The enjoyment comes in multiplayer, both solo and clan war.

Re: Clash of Clans
Speaking of exponential growth, I notice that gems barely touch the sides anymore. They can save many days of grinding early on but after that they only get more worthless.

Re: Clash of Clans
my first go at this i blew all my gems and it was stupid hard ,when i restarted ,i bought a bag of gems to get the 4 builders and have managed fine since you get enough of gems from tree/ rocks and achievments to keeping you going .i havent bothered with the 1p campaign since the level ramped up and just raided people since
<trk>:I remember catching a big fat one and my friend said "throw it back in, that one already tastes like wood"

Re: Clash of Clans
They become useful in the same way again each TH level up. Normally best used to boost barrack and spell production when raiding.
And then I end up burning them on completions as my stores are full and I've still got raids to do...
