Re: Driveclub
I really can't believe both this and forza 2 are 30FPS. I know I'm spoilt, but they both looked jerky as hell.
Every time an exclusive comes out, I really hope it gets a great review as I want to want a PS4, but they don't. By all accounts the only console that gets AAA exclusives is the Wii U. Bayonetta 2 is getting incredible reviews.

Re: Driveclub
just picked drive club up. love the handling, menus are fine and functional, graphics are at mostly very good in game, just some of the after race panoramic shots have looked a bit naff.
It does seem a little jerky though. still a lot of fun and glad to have a decent racer to play on the PS4 at last.

Only played a couple of tracks, but the handling feels like gash so far. It looks quite jerky as well.

FH2 is smooth with a good sensation of speed. I'd rather have the spectacular level of detail than 60fps. Track racers are different.markedkiller78 wrote:I really can't believe both this and forza 2 are 30FPS. I know I'm spoilt, but they both looked jerky as hell.

Re: Driveclub
Agree with the above.
If you play FH you don't notice any issues with a 30fps rate. However with DC I have felt a jerkiness. Apparently DC is rock solid at 30fps, but on the tracks I have raced on so far, you have a lot of vertical trackside boundary assets. This I suspect is the reason why I'm seeing jerkiness more, because my eyes are drawn to it.

Re: Driveclub
Went to Leeds Game today. They had DC and FH2 playing on opposite walls.
No doubt that DC looks more jerky and doesn't have the finesse of FH2. I can get DC from Tescos for £30 tomorrow though, so going to get it anyway.

Ended up being £35 with the voucher in store (cheaper online!)fagin wrote:

They had FH2 running @ Tesco's so I had a chance to play it before getting home and playing DriveClub.
I know they are both running @ 30fps but FH2 feels smoother and more refined.
Played through the rookie levels of DriveClub and so far I think it is ok.
It isn't amazing and it isn't crap... The most fun so far has been doing the speed runs.
I'm a bit peeved that the online features are still are not working which is a massive kick in the nads.
I am one of the minority that likes Drum and Bass, so I am loving the soundtrack
I think once I am online and playing some of my mates I will like it a whole load more... so far it's about a 7/10 for me

Re: Driveclub
After a year delay this has been out for nearly a month now and they STILL havent managed to make it work I guess it'll start to function when enough people just give up and accept they wasted their time and money on this and there's about 3 people left online?

Re: Driveclub
Wow, this really is a bit **** isn't it. Horrible handling, unspectacular visuals, terrible sound effects (the in-car view is like driving around with a goldfish bowl on your head) and generally void of any character whatsoever. It's only redeeming feature is the ambitiously long tracks and dynamic lighting.

Re: Driveclub
Is the online stuff fixed yet? That was what put me off it.
It's more surprising when next gen games don't have a broken online mode these days.. How crap is that?!

Re: Driveclub
Dynamic weather patch is out. Pretty impressive. It's not as pretty a game as FH2 but it's more "real" looking. Gets better when you get some faster cars. Point to point races are best.

Re: Driveclub
Technically, the weather effects look breath taking. Not sure I've ever seen better weather effects in a racer before (PC et al).

Re: Driveclub
To my surprise I'm quite enjoying this now. It's refreshing to play a racer without a dynamic racing line or rewind button. In fact Driveclub feels quite a challenge without them, but all the more rewarding for it.

I'm pretty sure in 2015 we'll see games running at 20 or 15 fps.
