Haha! Getting us all excited.
Leapfrog consoles entertain little ones for maybe up to a week. They soon gather dust because the edu-games are short lived and follow up software support is forgotten immediately after launch as no parent can be arsed to buy more software for it. That's ok though as a week's fun isn't bad going for a 3 year old.
I don't know why the article is talking about a new gap in the market. Kiddy versions of past-gen consoles have been Leapfrog's business for ages. Tablets etc being a more recent stab.

Fammafied version would be kinda hard on a 720p hdmi only console, unless you want to wire a downscaler inbetween. Would be kinda bulky i think
