I just noticed that Wonderboy kind of does this. It's not a free-scroller like Sonic, so again, not really what you're looking for, but it does intentionally adjust the player's viewpoint away from the norm. As a rule, you always push the screen horizontally from one third in. The scrolling path occasionally includes vertical slopes but regardless, it is always pushed into view by the players horizontal progress.cools wrote:Pubjoe: Sonic lets you look up and down, but it moves the camera appropriately by itself as well. What's quite interesting is that the 'camera' path sometimes shifts vertically for seemingly no reason other than to make things more interesting. Mainly testing some scratched to **** Gamecube discs and playing DOA5U this evening. Have been on the cider and playing Brutal Doom though, one of the PC best mods ever made.
