:awe:

The Gameboy was the perfect little kids toy, as was the GBA, as was the DS ...all except for the hinge. My Son went through a couple himself. As you say, the 3D warnings are also a major turn off. People are scared of 3D. The 2DS exists as literally a durable DS2. It already has a catalogue of games and will have cost Nintendo relatively nothing to launch.

This is another cringeworthy example of adult gamer politics. The ridiculous thing this time is that all this passion is over an argos toy. Well, consoles are toys anyway, but this time it's the real extremity.

Nintendo of Europe embarrassed.

I have to say that I don't really find it all that offensive.

If there is one thing that nintendo knows and that's handhelds, make no mistake this thing will sell by the **** load :D

Expect it to be around £99 around or a little after release and it will fly off the shelves!

Having thought about it for a couple of days I'd sort of come around to the idea... but the kids are the defining factor. I showed them pictures of it this morning when I picked them up and they thought it was awesome.

Personally, I think it should be 20 quid cheaper or come preloaded with X on the blue/black and Y on the white/red for £119.99, but Nintendo have to be careful with the pricing in relation to the standard 3DS. The cheeky buggers could at least throw in the appropriately coloured protective pouch with each machine.

Whatever, I reckon Santa will be bringing one in each colour for the kids, along with Pokémon X and Y. I thought I'd been lucky with them and missed the whole Pokémon fad.... until they announced the other week how much they like it. So, 170-odd GB later on the media server and they're currently half way through season 4 and loving it. Sad thing is, I swear I remember some of the Johto Journeys episodes from watching them years ago.... And I was too old then. On the positive side, they have no interest in Power Rangers....

I'm very guilty of forgetting target markets when I assess value / worth.

Looks like I've been caught again  I still think this is over priced (RPR) but didn't even consider kids going through multiple console die to breakage.

Oh god it's not like I don't get into stupid video game rants.

Kinda off topic...

I think maybe gamers (myself included) get so easily offended because we don't want to burst the reality bubble and remind ourselves that we're middle-aged ****.

Never got a problem with the DS Lite, and it's all the time with our 1 year old boy.

Lucky?
