Nintendo 2DS

Post by StandardDeluxe »

It's a DS without a hinge that plays 3DS games in 2D and isn't a U controller either....

I'll just leave the Engadget link here, whilst I work out if I have indeed woken up in a parallel universe, or if Nintendo really are clueless ****....

Someone at Nintendo has pressed the big red button that says DO NOT PRESS.

The hinge. Fantastic invention. Makes doors open, which is good ****.

It also makes completely impractical designs like this slightly more useable and portable.

Now imagine if Nintendo were to combine this design with a hinge.... I reckon they could have a winner on their hands....

To me it looks like a perfectly good inexpensive solution to someone who wants to play a 3DS title or two on the couch. I'd get one, if it had the 3D function, for those 3D "remakes" Nintendo and Sega have been churning out for the system.

I can't help but admire the size of Nintendo's bollox and sheer amount of cash they have to ensure their bolloxs keep on growing!

I'll predict that this will fly off the shelves at that price point for the younger generation... Especially tieing it in with Pokemon releases.

I suspect thus will be a shrewd business move @ £110.

Isn't the 3ds this price, the old foldy version?

This is the virtual boy of this decade.

You can regularly get the xl for £135.

If this was £60 retail I would understand, it would still look naff, but it would be 1/2 the price.

... and they removed that cool gameboy'ish-"I can play outdoors"-/on-the-go-factor.

It looks so indoors only.
