It's copper from the cabinet to your house..... hence the closer you're to the green cabinet, the better your DL speeds.

Re: Xbox One
Some people that are lucky enough to be trialling FTTP (Fibre To The Premise), are getting over 300mb download speeds!!! I'd pay the premium to get a trench dug to my house from the cabinet for that service!!

Re: Xbox One
I doubt I'd notice any benefit from FTTP. Since I've gone to BT Fibre I've barely downloaded anything in the last few months - maybe a handful of films streamed from iTunes and Netflix. I used to download much more when I had 2mb and probably more still when I had even slower speeds.
I think knowing I can download 3 Gigabytes in 10 minutes means I don't really worry about pre-installing Steam games I'll never play and the films I'll never watch.

Re: Xbox One
That's true regarding the speed Joe, I've thought about going down from the 76 package to the 38, I mean how fast do i really need to download "stuff", it's doing it in the background any who. Meh forget that it's only £15 pm

Re: Xbox One
The difference between BT's 40mb/s and 80mb/s (~ 60 to me I think) is £5. I didn't bother going for 80. It's only a fiver but even if I wanted to use it, there are few servers that'd deliver the speed.

I am one of them people. Shame I have to move next month. Hopefully I can still get normal fibre, but I will sure miss it.fagin wrote:Some people that are lucky enough to be trialling FTTP (Fibre To The Premise), are getting over 300mb download speeds!!! Re: Xbox One
Wow. What amazing new features Microsoft. The next gen has truly arrived!Xbox One's 'February' update has begun rolling out to consoles, Microsoft has confirmed.
The latest system update - which was initially scheduled to go live earlier this week - is the machine's first major firmware upgrade.
After the update has been performed, users will have the ability to manage their storage space and track the battery life of their controllers.

Re: Xbox One
I havent slept in weeks just thinking about it. The wife was begging for a bunk up last night but I just rolled away, hoping, dreaming and longing to manage my storage and controller battery life on a console I don't and won't ever own.

Surprised they didnt re-introduce killer DRM features again. I guess they are waiting for a bigger install base.
