I saw a commercial last night fir just dance 2018 which is being released for Wii, Wii u and Switch. Has there ever been another time in video gaming history when 3 generations of a console manufacturers consoles were continuing to be supported?

Got 250+ moons. I'll probably go back and explore a bit more but I'm not going for 500. Excellent game, full of clever little ideas and easter eggs. Loved the 2D bits. Hard to fault, but if I had to, I find the fact that the most of the Kingdoms are floating, or in the middle of a baron landscape a bit odd. I'm sure there are good design reasons but it makes them feel smaller than they are, or a bit unfinished or something. Also the rabbit bosses got a bit repetitive and somehow didn't feel very Nintendo. It's also too easy. Clutching at straws here though. 9/10.

My lad's got 666 :wtf:

He says the second loop is better, much more skill based moon challenges.

I'm on about 140. I'm more motivated to play this than any other new game since MK8, but it's still two weeks since I have. Even my just-turned-five-year-old has over 100. I might as well give up.

390 moons I think, not sure. The post-"story" (it's not a 2nd loop) adds in all the more normal Mario 3D style platforming and a lot of these are properly tough. I get as many of the new moons as I can, then buy all the Toad hints and work through the Talkatoo hints as well until I've run out of stuff I can actually find. Not a fan of find-stuff-simply-by-looking-everywhere hidden items.

I think what I like the most is how there's almost no feeling of repetition bar the bosses as Pang mentioned. Even then their patterns are varied between encounters. Every idea is introduced gently then gradually increased in complexity until the end of a "level" then scrapped for something(s) new next "level".

I'm not sure if I really like the structure of short game + long tail. Story seems to be 1/6 of the whole meaning there's an absolute ton of optional play. I'm aware there's a special ending for 999 moons (and that you can simply buy all the moons necessary by collecting coins) that I'll probably go for over time but I'm not feeling the same sort of drive to get them as I did with BOTW quests + shrines.

Ah okay. Do the levels kind of refill though? I got that impression - while avoiding actually looking up late game spoilage.

Should've been called Hatty surely.

I'm not one for backtracking in games so I'm having a mooch but I'm sure I'll get bored before 500, let alone 999. One thing is for sure though, I can't think of any game with this many ingenious little ideas. Most developers would just think, sod it, hide a moon over there. It's clearly a creative free-for-all at Nintendo and long may this continue.

You need 500 to unlock the "final" part of the game.

725 moons. Only a few so far that have proved taxing - ones with a tricky manouvere and a far off checkpoint, and others where the physics/controls are unique to a section along with a far off checkpoint.

As weird as it seems considering how much I've played, my one real criticism is that it's not really hooked me at all. Never felt absolutely immersed or engrossed in it.

It would be a better game if the moon requirement to move on to each new kingdom was much higher, and maybe drop a couple of the small kingdoms in favour of making the best ones larger.
