By the way, who the **** drew these things?! I mean, did somebody actually get paid for this....
on the plus side ... I bet that not too many buyers were dissapointed by the ingame graphics after seeing the rather simplistic cover. I often found the coverart for the 8bit systems to be be a bit misleading.
Wanted: SNK Candy 18 spares. Mainly looking for a marquee holder & the "video games" sign.

I like the ads for conversions in the 8-bit era that had screenshots from the arcade version...

... "Arcade version shown, other versions may differ". No ****!

That would've fooled some parents I'll bet! :palm: Speccy port vs Arcade version

They're still at it nowadays - It winds me up a little when they show an ad on TV with some CGI accompanied by small print at the bottom of the screen that reads 'not actual gameplay footage' - especially when the CGI looks worse than the actual game :wtf:

I remember all C64 games used to show arcade or amiga screenshots on the back of the box/case and then when the game finally loaded it all looked a bit cack!

I do remember a game on the C64 called Creatures, i used to think the graphics on that game were :awe:

The two Creatures games and Mayhem in Monsterland are probably the games with the best graphics on the 64. It can produce very impressive graphics when put into the right hands:
