Android recommendations

Does anyone have any recommendations for free (with minimum ad intrusions + a paid version that gets rid of ads) or cheap (<£2) Android games?

I've been playing a load of:
  • WordFeud - multiplayer Scrabble with a fast and clean interface.
  • Towers & Trolls - tower defense game with lovely graphics and sound, tough levels and a distinctive arcade feel. Ad free, free to play, with paid for cheats.
I've got Zookeeper, Chu Chu Rocket and Sonic CD as other paid for ones but they don't see nearly as much play...

Plants vs zombies used to be fun but it looks like a different game now.

Any particular genre in mind?

For 1st person shooters - Shadowgun is amazing and can be gotten on sale pretty cheap.
I also managed to pick up Deadspace, Modern Combat 2&3 and N.O.V.A like that too.
Droid Gunner SP is some sampler levels free and you pay to get the full game - battlemech game.

Arcadey games - Mini Squadron is fun, so is Age of Zombies.

7 little words is a fun word game. First level pack free - 50 puzzles - then each additional pack is $1AUD

All Angry Birds types are ad-supported.

Temple run is fun but can get tedious/samey.

Osmos and Zenbound for trippy relaxation.

Anomaly HD for a different take on tower defense.

I also like Shine Runner - swamp boat racing game with a buy/sell profit side to it.

And now I can finally play it on a compatible device :awe:

100 Floors is an entertaining freebie, and a nice concept to boot.

Flick Golf - could imagine this in an arcade, played with a trackball.

Pinball Arcade is excellent but I wish there was a full pack available for purchase rather than just individual bits.

Sprinkle - works well on a large screen, tough to play on a small one.

Ski Safari - single button runner. Simple game, but beautifully executed. Perfectly smooth and responsive.

I'm still playing Towers & Trolls despite having moved between multiple devices and having to restart. It's fantastic.

'Shogun bullet hell shooter', pretty fun game plus it's inspired by 90's japanese arcade games (according to description, that is)

Only played the demo but was sad when it forced me to quit the demo

I hated the control method in Shogun.

Picked up a few pounds worth of games in the Google Play 25p sale that's ending later today. Different stuff every day and I've been all over it :awe:

I've been buying the 4-5 star stuff whenever it's discounted, regardless of if I'm going to be playing it immediately. As a result, recently I've got for about £2.50 total:

Max Payne
NOVA 3
Granny Smith
World Of Goo
Cut the Rope Experiments
Broken Sword
Where's My Perry
Horn

That sale's good. I'm jealous. Horn looks good.

I'd already picked up a bunch of other stuff previously otherwise I'd have grabbed them at the discount price.

NOVA 3 I bought, downloaded, played for about 2 minutes then decided the controls sucked. Because it took ages to download I'd passed the 15 minute refund window, but because it only cost 69p I've not bothered chasing a refund for it. Looked really swanky, just not a great touchscreen game.

Yay phone games! :awe:

Only game I've really been playing at the moment is super hexagon. I don't think it's on Android yet but it probably will be. ...Well that and draw something. I have about 100 games on my 'will play sometime' list.
