Sega Dreamcast
this year, it is the 10th anniversary of the dreamcast.
I really enjoyed that console, because it was not a gay aimed machine, but it was the arcade and hardcore gamer console.Arcade ports were almost all perfect conversions.
It had good 2D and 3D fighters and some very good shooters, RPG and racers too.
the dreamcast is the only console ,with the nintendo DS, i own and still enjoying.
I really want sega come back with a new home system...
how do you think about that great console?

Re: Sega Dreamcast
There is a 10yr anniversiary article in GAMEtm (Uk magazine) on the DC.
Some classics were released on the system it's just a pitty that more people didn't support it back in the day. I think I prefered the Saturn more, but that's due to the time / my age when I was playing.
Looking back at the killer aps, the DC is excellent

Re: Sega Dreamcast
I bought a Japanese one at launch and it still works to this day. I have one set up in the games room all the time. I can remember importing Virtua Fighter 3 and thinking this is amazing, 2 days later I got Soul Caliber and was blown away at the quality of the graphics (especially via the VGA cable) and gameplay.
I still power it up when I want a quick blast of Crazy Taxi.

Re: Sega Dreamcast
I bought an import J-Dreamcast when i came back from canada to Europe in 1999.
I had Sonic adventure and VF3 with it, and yes with the VGA cable, it was outstanding. the PS2 was not out yet, at that time, we had the PS1 with its crappy textures and the blurry 3D n64.
Then i bought Marvel Vs Capcom with the Arcade Stick, cannot count the hours of versus we had with a friend.
house of the dead 2 was fun too, not arcade perfect, but fun.
Ferrari 355, most realistic Ferrari simulation IMO. it was **** hard.
when i came in japan, i bought a new one at super potatoes with Soul Calibur and it is still connected to my monitor as i m writing this message

Re: Sega Dreamcast
The Dreamcast is one of my favourite consoles ever, great games even in todays standards,of course you can't really play any of the fighting games with the pad, just doesn't work...

Re: Sega Dreamcast
The dreamcast is absolutley wicked - a super duper console!!! I'm not a fan of 3D fighters, but one of my mates got Soul Calibur, and I lost many many many hours of my life!!!
Now i'm off to e-bay to buy another step down transformer - my dreamcast has been sadly neglected since the last one broke!
....very true.....luckily they remedied this with their very good stick. A really good product, all it really lacked was some "weight" - perhaps they should have put a couple of house bricks in it!!!!you can't really play any of the fighting games with the pad, just doesn't work...
