This shows promise. I like the music and the way it looks. Things get a bit hard on the eyes at full speed thanks to the 30fps framerate mind you. It feels pretty good for the most part. Minor quirks when you're running up curved ramps and stuff but the physics are a bit more true to the MD games than Sonic 4. The level seems to have two or three paths but you can't really backtrack and explore much.
I played it with a big smile on my face though. I think I'm being overly cautious based on past experience. The Sonic Unleashed demo was the best level in the game and my main concern is we have the same situation here. For the full game to succeed, the modern levels need to be stupid-death free and the other classic levels need to be well designed when the green hill nostalgia factor isn't there. Sega also need to resist the temptation to do new things and keep it as pure as this. I'd also like to see more of a challenge, but with the target market that's not gonna happen.

Is it the 30fps or the fact it's been optimised for 3D? It does get way too blurry at times. Full price retail game too.
Not bad, looks and sounds great and it controls decently enough, much better than that piece of **** Sonic 4. I still fell through the floor a few time as per usual in these modern Sonic games
Could do with a boost in the framerate, it was making my missus feel a bit queasy

You're already calling her your "missus"? You sound so much like a henpecked husband now
