I think that if you open up the 360, you will find the heart of a Dreamcast beating away furiously. Microsoft are doing very well in the 'appeal to absolutely everyone' game!

I'd love it if it was true...I missed out on the Dreamcast version & I'd love to see if it's as good as I've heard but I dont want to pay the DC version prices now.

Been reading up on this guy around the web & apparantly he's not exactly flavour of the month is he??? ;) lol

The G.Rev guy that was interviewed in the last issue of edge mentioned that Under Defeat was coming to XBLA.

Love Under Defeat.
I really dig the shooting mechanic, and heli-shmups hold a small place in my heart...but what's this, a widescreen-horizontal update?
I hope there are some vertical options, 'cause I might just stick to my DC version for my cabinets.

It is, for my money, the prettiest Naomi game and considering its age transfers over well I think. It was a rumoured XBLA title ages ago, yes. Maybe they looked at the Strania sales figures.

If such a thing can exist, I believe that some games can labelled with a fairly generic "DC Shooter" tag.

Under Defeat
Border Down
Ikaruga
Shikigami no Shiro 2
Gigawing 2
Psyvriar 2
These games all have a similarity of some sort. I don't know if it's the way they look, or the speed that they move at. There is something mysteriously syrupy (even via VGA) about them. I'm not saying they are bad games; I particularly like Psyvriar 2, but they seem a bit too far removed from more traditional sprite based shooters.

Dunno, I may just be waffling a bit.

I can see myself downloading Under Defeat as it is a decent game, although I sold my DC version and haven't really regretted it.

Had a quick play.
Presentation is nice. Once installed the loading times are minimal. It's pretty bare bones with only Arcade and New Order modes and a gallery. Arcade mode seems to have a bit more slowdown than it should but it was never going to be as accurate as a DC port. No biggie. New Order works surprisingly well! Wider angle of movement, slightly different enemy placements and bullet patterns and a new soundtrack. It looks great too. In fact I think I'll play this mode exclusively and put the arcade version in the NNC again.
