Re: Forget the XRGB.... get the new SLG3000
Example of what it can look like on this thread http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.ph ... 2&start=90" 2nd image down.
My ini file for the game is a few more posts down (the HLSL portion) for that specific screenshot. Please be aware the shadowmask settings are specific for that game resolution and also the output resolution is 1080p.
You need to think about what it actually looks like on a proper CRT, not how you think it should look.
These settings would probably benefit with me playing further, but this is what I came up with after my initial tinkering.

Re: Forget the XRGB.... get the new SLG3000
Hey guys, looking for some help, be prepared, I'm totally clueless.
I'm in the market for a candy cabinet at the moment. My plan is to install an Xbox 360 inside the cabinet, for Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition.
Now, my question to start with is; If I connect an Xbox 360 to a 15/24 KHZ arcade monitor, and play Third Strike Online Edition on it, will I get scanlines like the ones found at my local arcade on the Third Strike CPS3 boards?
If this simply cant be done with the video settings from an Xbox 360, I'm guessing I'm going to have to generate this effect by buying this SLG3000?
For reference purposes, I have an offer on a "Ok Baby" candy, and an "Astro City", assuming they come with the stock monitors, what will I end up having to do?

If you buy a cab with stock monitor you'll need to downscale the 640x480 picture, some games (shooters etc) this can look ok.cirteM wrote:Hey guys, looking for some help, be prepared, I'm totally clueless.

The SLG3000 will only work properly with 640x480 (Tri-sync). Anything lower and the scanlines won't look right.
Stick to an LCD for SF3:OE. It switches between widescreen and 4:3 and looks awful on a 15Kz monitor.

Damn, that sucks. Didn't want to play on LCD due to input lag. I can notice in a game like 3s. Thanks for the information though.

Doesn't 3rd Strike Online have a scanline option in the options already?

Yes and no. Capcom really screwed up this game. It shifts from scanlines in game, back to super hi res widescreen in the menus and vs screen...emphatic wrote:Doesn't 3rd Strike Online have a scanline option in the options already?

The scanlines that come with the game are laughable, they look freakin' terrible.CPS2 wrote:Yes and no. Capcom really screwed up this game. Re: Forget the XRGB.... get the new SLG3000
If I order an SLG for RGB and a SLG3000 for VGA (for 8/16 bit) and dreamcast.
Am I good to go to start with...
I'm going to read through this whole thread after this post (so please forgive me i am asking too early)
(I wont ask about settings and stuff...that can be later on) By early next week, I'll have a SMS to go with my Megadrive and Dreamcast.
My Current set is a 32" LCD Samsung.

Re: Forget the XRGB.... get the new SLG3000
That's correct m8, DC VGA to SLG3000 to VGA CRT.
They are running at 640x480.
You don't need an upscaler if your screen supports 640x480

If your LCD accepts input from your DC VGA without the slg300, then it will accept it with.

Re: Forget the XRGB.... get the new SLG3000
Hey guys.. would this be safe to use on a Panasonic plasma??
Im asking as the scanlines are static (not interchanging fields like natural ones) so wouldnt they be prone to burn-in in the long run???

Natural scanlines are static.... interchanging fields are an interlaced picture. Anyway, no, it won't cause burn-in. Burn-in is caused by bright static images.jonnifun wrote:Hey guys.. would this be safe to use on a Panasonic plasma??
