Some more images of Deathsmiles 360 mode on a 31khz arcade monitor (Nanao 2932). This time with only some slight scanlines.

sure tone down every second line of the image will end in slighty darker picture but it looks absolutely authentic.
that's exactly what i want to happen. imo a darker picture is easier on the eyes.
More than for the eyes, it gives beautiful and full color gradients.

Btw someone can take a pic of a running LCD via Prt Sc or whatever, to see really nicely the scans? Coz you take pics from CRT's and scans are melt with the phosphores of the tubes.

Yes, it will look different on an lcd/plasma of course. Will try to find time to hook it up to my Pioneer plasma tomorrow and snap a few if no one else beats me to it.

In the meantime, heres another quick one of my arcade CRT with full scanlines.

im running a early prototype of the slg300ß with a few screens (crt, plasma, lcd) and different video sources (native vga, videoscaler). maybe the pics you looking for already over here >
the picture qualitiy of this early proto wasn´t equal to the final units but good enough get a first impression. mostly i tested with uncommonly or obsolete monitors so its not a fully representativ overview :) nevertheless sgl doing well with each screen.

i posted this on shmups, but why not post it here as well...
first test with the 360 in my cab. i bought my cab as an empty shell for a project. the 18" crt was missing, so i put in a 20" LG L2000 CP monitor with a native resolution of 1600x1200. there's a tinted piece of plexiglas covering the monitor.

xbox360 -> microsoft vga cable -> vga extension cable (temporary setup) -> slg3000 -> vga cable -> monitor

because of the ~6 meter long cable, i expected the picture to be a bit ****, but it looked absolutely stunning. deathsmiles black label in 360 mode:

i was used to playing my games on a european 27" sony crt that died in late 2007 and couldn't be repaired. that was a really sad day. especially since that tv was one of my first bigger purchases, when i was young. i got a used 20" crt for the neo later on, but sort of gave up on retro gaming. the slg3000 definitely changed things for the better. thanks, guys! :D
i should get my vga converter in the mail soon and hope that it'll work just as well with the mvs.
Wanted: SNK Candy 18 spares. Mainly looking for a marquee holder & the "video games" sign.

Colors are more vivid on the LCD but the "natural" scanlines from the CRT are the real deal :awe:

Agreed, the LCD is far more clinical..... but the SLG does a great job and has perhaps breathed new life in to retro scene on HD displays imo.
