Platinum here means pcb. So they made they're own chassi. That's pretty hardcore. :)

Ah cool, wasn't sure what they meant by that. I've gone and done a total 180 on these and now want one

No way, it has a CRT made by Sharp in there? Hmmmm… starting to look mighty tempting. Just wish the control panel wasn’t so derpy looking or it would be an instant buy for me.

I wonder is it a case of them having access to some Sharp 14 inch portable TV tubes which they made a new chassis for?

Yeah if they shaved a bit off that control panel depth...

Am I right in reading that the blue hood is made from steel rather than plastic?

I'd think 1700 is already a lot of money for an original cabinet, but for an off-spec imitation it seems quite excessive?

Consider that there is a genuine Neo SC-14 for sale right now on eBay for 22.000€, and suddenly 1.700€ seems like a real bargain.

Besides, I am sure there is a lot of manual labour involved in building one of these, so the price is not bad actually.

The 22k includes an Aero Fighters 3 MVS cart, swift kick to the nuts and hand signature by Dion Dakis under the control panel

I usually pay a lot more to get kicked in the nuts so this is a bargain.

There is no way they made their own chassis. It has to be a universal one that has been modified.

Doesn't mean it's poor or anything, but bespoke? No.

It's probably poor :problem:

Excellent like all Made in Japan tools I've been building a good collection of recently.

I also have the Vessel version for bits:

Go for it!

I use my Japanese tools at work & they are so much better than the crap we sell here.

They certainly look well made and people seem to rate them so I think I will, I need something with longer reach than the iFixit set I have (which is also great).

It's funny I use Japanese tools on Chinese & now Ireland (Waterford) built gaming (fruit) cabinets certainly makes the job easier than the Amazon crap the company gave me.

The Bahco socket set they gave me is ok though.

I have a couple of JST drivers, a necessity for Japan cabs.

The little dot on the screw head marks it as JST, in my experience anyway.

For general tools I use Knipex & Wera. Bahco socket sets are great too, bought mine from Buck & Ryan Tottenham Court Rd.

That was a great tool shop just a few doors away from Casino arcade.

lmao, yeah you're likely correct. Chinese manufacturer that goes the extra step above and beyond to engineer a custom chassi for a stock of nos tubes? Riiiiight. what was I thinking?

Arrived with another less interesting Sigma stick and a Sigma cable extension too. 8-)

Rather than derail this thread I’ll post a thread of its own on how the artwork might be saved…
