Hi,

I'm from Melbourne, Australia. I hope to own some Japanese candy cabs in the future, as I had many great years playing these at the local arcades. Also seeking advice and knowledge from members as I'm new to collecting.

Hey,

So stumbled on this site looking for info on chewlix and type x3 boards, I have a type x3 board on the way and hope to purchase a chewlix in the coming weeks, also got a sega jamma jvs converter on the way.

I used to have a huge candy cab back in the day, I can’t remember which one but recently I was collecting arcade 1up’s but al I do is rip the guts out, mod them and never play them so now getting rid of them all and getting a chewlix to actually play the games I like, mainly street fighter ultra 4.

I’m from Essex in the uk

Hi All,
Frank here,
44 years old and have fond memories of playing Double Dragon, R-Type and Shinobi in the cafe, chip shop and other cafe (in that order) - whenever I play double dragon I can still smell the wafts of breakfasts being cooked in the cafe kitchen!!!

Davlar is here!

Hi,
I'm Davlar, 40 years old, from France near Rennes (Britany), I put a finger in arcade world in 2015 with a NEOGEO SNK slot and a smallcab supergun. Easy with plug'n'play jamma connector, scart, AES controllers and CRT TVs or a small PVM 9' for small tests and mobility. Before of that I stopped videogames since childhood (around 14yo) to play music a lot (bands, shows...).

Now in 2021 I have 1 CPS1 and 2 CPS2 games in japanese version to worry about, I need some help to find the best solution for kick harness, panel, sound.... and 4 players mode with dedicated PCBs.
I also felt into home console and arcade systems acquisition of what I didn't have in my childhood (NEC core grafx/pcengine, japanese superFamicom, megadrive, sega saturn, dreamcast, NEOGEO AES, american NES, PGM IGS, several dedicated PCB's, several versions of MVS slots ...).

I love true gaming but not ready to spread all my money in it, and prefer to build a cable instead of buying it on ebay.
I have capabilities in electronics, I repaired a damaged blast city platine for a friend, and do a full capkit and cleaning. Now the cab is running like a charm.

I don't have any cabinet yet, and I'm going to build something custom with CRT TV, not sure about the final shape, but something modular (removable panel to test several button configurations, rotating screen to have yoko and tate capabilities), and elegant (noble wood like old jukebox or grand father radio set), with lightgun holdsters somewhere...

So, I'm reading https://wiki.arcadeotaku.com/, and I guess I'll have to use the forum now.
Hope to find what I need, then share some cable tips and repair, always DIY lowcost solutions.

Hi All,

Nothing really sensational here but just another new Astro Cab Owner in the 40's
I've seen Cools' multiple messages on the forum http://forum.arcadecontrols.com and found out this one.
Great forum by the way ... I love the theme Colors so sweet...

So, my cab is fully restored and working with Groovymame perfectly configured. What an achievement !
I have an eye on MisterFGPA, but not yet decided to move on ... oh and another New Astro City is coming home in a few weeks...

I'll for sure post here and there and get it touch with all other arcade aficionado...

Long live to Arcade Otaku !!!
