Re: Introduce yourself here!
Hello from Seattle, WA! I somehow ended up here on the search for a candy cabinet and found tons of info. Can't wait to catch up on all this backlog reading.

Re: Introduce yourself here!
I'm also from Seattle, nice coincidence there.
I just purchased a Sega Blast City in (supposedly) near perfect condition, from a arcade/dealer in Texas. Having it shipped here, should arrive in a couple weeks. I kinda jumped in head first, and now I'm scrambling to learn as much as I can.
This looks like it will be a great resource!

Hello from Oslo, Norway!
I am a long time game collector that always wanted a Astro City when I “grew up”....
Finally got my first Astro last September and then I went a little overboard after that.
PCB collection is getting quite decent and I have also restored the Astro and a New Net City since then. Next up is a Naomi Universal that needs some TLC while I save up som cash for my next CV1000 PCB.
Thanks for all the great forum posts and the fantastic wiki. Has saved my **** more than a couple of times!

Re: Introduce yourself here!
Hey Everyone!
I'm in the process of renovating a Sega Naomi Universal cabinet and happened upon this forum because a user called CKong is making repro versions of the Naomi marquee holder. Can anyone explain how to get to the marketplace section of this forum? It seems I'm not authorized to view this board or the user called CKong.
Thx!!

Re: Introduce yourself here!
Yo! FINALLY have a candy cab on the way after drooling over them for so long, so thought I'd pop in and say hi. I'm over the pond in Canada, but have tons of family in Portugal. Been lurking for years and absorbing all the info but now that I have a Blast City about to drop I'm full-tilt into reading everything there is to know about it so I don't have to hack anything up or plop an LCD in it. Only other cab is a 4 slot MVS, and if I stay sane that'll be all I need.

Re: Introduce yourself here!
It's from an anime that I was watching (High Score Girl) that showed real arcade machines like the Aero City. A few people mentioned that it might be a unit made by Nintendo typically found at candy shops in Japan and aimed at small children. It's probably unlikely that I'll find one for sale in the US but if I could find more pictures of it, I might be able to make it.

This dress powers up the shot.
Re: Introduce yourself here!
I Think they are just generic shop unit cabs, I've never seen any evidence that they are Nintendo or any make in particular and you are right that they were aimed at kids, I've always liked them for a Woody

<trk>:I remember catching a big fat one and my friend said "throw it back in, that one already tastes like wood"

Re: Introduce yourself here!
I found some more pictures online from a French travel blog (of all places). I think I might try and recreate it with some acrylic and/or polycarbonate and see how that goes. A shop near sells them with custom cutting, rounding, and adding holes for pretty cheap even at around 1400 mm x 660 mm.
