Yo! FINALLY have a candy cab on the way after drooling over them for so long, so thought I'd pop in and say hi. I'm over the pond in Canada, but have tons of family in Portugal. Been lurking for years and absorbing all the info but now that I have a Blast City about to drop I'm full-tilt into reading everything there is to know about it so I don't have to hack anything up or plop an LCD in it. Only other cab is a 4 slot MVS, and if I stay sane that'll be all I need.

I'm here to find out more information on this arcade unit:

I've checked on Reddit in the /r/cade sub and there appears to be a few bits of information here and there including the make and model of the unit. I think it looks similar to the Jaleco Pony Video Game unit.

It's from an anime that I was watching (High Score Girl) that showed real arcade machines like the Aero City. A few people mentioned that it might be a unit made by Nintendo typically found at candy shops in Japan and aimed at small children. It's probably unlikely that I'll find one for sale in the US but if I could find more pictures of it, I might be able to make it.

I Think they are just generic shop unit cabs, I've never seen any evidence that they are Nintendo or any make in particular and you are right that they were aimed at kids, I've always liked them for a Woody

<trk>:I remember catching a big fat one and my friend said "throw it back in, that one already tastes like wood"

I found some more pictures online from a French travel blog (of all places). I think I might try and recreate it with some acrylic and/or polycarbonate and see how that goes. A shop near sells them with custom cutting, rounding, and adding holes for pretty cheap even at around 1400 mm x 660 mm.

Hey all. I'm Dan, and I'm trying to persuafe my wife that resurrecting my arcade habit is good for my mental health if not our bank balance.

Coming back into it after a few years away. Still too scared to see how many of my CPS have suicided.

Welcome!

About your CPS, if it's CPS2's there is now a complete solution to resurrecting dead boards - and we're not talking Pheanix ROMs.

If one is dead, then you can always make it into a Multi-CPS2 setup too.

Hi,

Been away from the arcade scene some 10 years of nothing. Lost interest in it, but recently got it back. Still have my Aleph wall cabinet with broken MTC 9000 I need to fix, and I might get a New Net City very soon.

Living in Södertälje, Sweden. Never had an account on this site, but been a member of the Swedish forum Arkadtorget since he early days.

Hoping for a long lasting arcade obsession and lots of fun on this forum. See you!

Hi!

I'm Niko from Finland and I have a long history of retro gaming, repairing and collecting, but just recently moved to arcade stuff (1,5 years or so). Mostly been active in arcade-projects where you can find me with this same nick. Right now looking original marquee for my Tekken cabinet and some PCBs, so I was hinted to join here!
