To be clear, I’m not saying you can’t disable it but that if you don’t and store long term, it can permanently brick your 4200.ChrisBEANS wrote: ↑August 17th, 2023, 5:47 pmNah, you can deffo disable it. I can’t remember exactly how, but I’ll look it up and let you know

Hmmm. That sounds like a colossal flaw…wonderbanana wrote: ↑August 18th, 2023, 8:03 amTo be clear, I’m not saying you can’t disable it but that if you don’t and store long term, it can permanently brick your 4200.ChrisBEANS wrote: ↑August 17th, 2023, 5:47 pmNah, you can deffo disable it. I bought an MX8000 recently, with a pin, hadn’t been used in years, and it was fine.
Want me to send you a remote, see if you can get it going?

Re: It's for free!
Thanks for the offer bud As I said before though, I had and still have several remotes but have since passed the TV on. The info I have came from a B&O engineer. He could be wrong of course but from my understanding its quite a common problem. The 4200 has different internals to the other MX4000 series. Bugger to work on apparently.ChrisBEANS wrote: ↑August 18th, 2023, 8:09 amHmmm. Re: It's for free!
Ah, sorry. Totally misunderstood, thought you had the TV and no remote.
If that info came from a B&O engineer, I’d assume he knows at least a little more about B&O TVs than me
I’ll shut up now. Sorry.

Re: It's for free!
Right. I ‘think’ if using the Beolink 1000 remote… you press ‘menu’, the left arrow (or rewind) twice, then stop
From there, you can change, or delete the PIN.
I’ll actually confirm this was what I did when I’m back with the TV later. I’m sure that’s right though…

Re: It's for free!
Will give it a try, it’s a 4200 that has a pin - just a hassle to input each time I turn on.
Thanks will let you know how it goes.

Woo Hoo it works, it asked if I wanted to change or delete code and I deleted. I used the newer remote with the screen..

Re: It's for free!
Got a few of my repro marquee holders going spare:
1 x Capcom Cute
2 x Jaleco Pony Mark III 25
One of the Ponys has bolts, the other doesn't, If I can find some I'll include them.
Just pay shipping. A charity donation would be nice if you see fit.
All three have been claimed.
