Just received Cab - Monitor doesn’t work (Neo Geo 25 U4)

Hey all - so my **** **** week just turned ****

Just unwrapped the new cab Martin delivered and the monitor seems dead. Seller assures me it worked before despatch and cab was well wrapped.

Powering on the cab with no pcb - lights light up but nothing else. Connected a Jamma Mister and lights up, jamma adapter shows 5.04 being drawn but again no picture.

Probably should of said, complete novice on monitors (well these days cabs in general!), is that easy to check without frying myself?

Should the monitor power on with no pcb attached? I thought my old cabs did but maybe Im misremembering?

Its the black wire going from the chassi proboably plugged into the outlet on the front panel.. the screen will power on but you wont get any picture of anything if you have nothing plugged in.

Ed: having multi-mister-whatever is garbage for troubleshooting cabs, they have a million reasons for not powering up, i strongly advice to get a cheap jamma or mvs to use for testing and adjusting..

Found the cable, looks okay. Gonna have to find a cheap pcb or borrow one I think. Might drop Pete a line, he’s near me.

As others are saying it's likely the cab is fine, is the MiSTER known working with cabs?

Certainly with the irkenlabs one you have to do some tinkering on the desktop prior to installing in a cab https://irkenlabs.com/jamma-expander/mi ... stallation

I would double check the harness and see if it's JAMMA. I don't think they were as stock. MVS wiring is subtly different and you can end up **** the audio amp on a pcb running it in an MVS wired cab.

Forgot about this, they're indeed not vanilla JAMMA as standard.
