Convergence strips Nanao

Post by supermagoalex »

Hi all,
I have some convergence problems on my Naomi Universal Nanao monitor in the four corners.
I made four strips 10 cm x 1 cm with magnetic tape on it (as you can see in the picture).
I never tried to fix this problem, do you think the strips I made can work?
Thanks!
Marko

They should work, best way is to give it a try.

I will be interested to see how you get on - have one to do myself. :D

The corner convergence strips used by CRT manufacturers are not magnets, i.e. they don't generate a magnetic field. Instead they are made of materials such as permalloy or ferrite that shield from a magnetic field. In other words, if you put them close to a ferrous metal object, they don't attract it.

Hi MKL,

Is it simple to make those up? what would you use, I get the feeling some are doing it wrong and using those flexible magnets like you stick on a metal fridge.

Cheers

Wild conjecture having successfully used strip magnets in the past - wouldn't the fields from the yoke and degauss coils demagnetise them over time anyway?

I use the ones I take off TVs. I have at least 1000 so if you need some let me know.

Hi,
this is my current situation, I also tried to move yoke rings.
The problem is in the right corners, center is perfect.
