NNC Tosh CRT Focus / Sharpness

Post by Moonwalker »

Hi guys,

I was wondering where I can find the Focus / Sharpness pot or settings. Extended Remote board is installed.

Thanks!

Does the one on the neckboard actually do something?
I get no response on my PD1843 with this pot.

It adjusts the voltage of grid 4 (while the pot on the flyback adjusts the voltage of grid 3). It should have an effect in off-center areas. It only works on the original Toshiba tubes.

Great, thanks a lot!

Another thing I always was unsure about, what is the 3,3 V pot actually for?

You just made my day with this one.

Never thought that it was safe to touch this one since it was glued on my PD1843.

By the way neither the flyback midldle pot F2, nor the neckboard focus pot seemed to do anything when I adjusted them to fix my blurry off-center areas issue in the past.
Now that I have followed your advice about F1 pot and have adjusted the main focus it seems that the neckboard pot allows a better overall balance of the new focus between all off-centers areas. But the effect seems so subtle that I can’t say if this is real or just my mind :D
Strangly the middle F2 pot on the flyback still seems to do nothing at all on my chassi and a Toshiba tube.
Focus seems perfect or real close now anyway.

Thanks a lot for sharing the knowledge Buddy C :awe:

It would be used on a dual focus tube. The monitor that comes with the Toshiba PF is a single focus one. Hence it has no use.
