Open source chassis

This is extremely cool. Basically turn any curbside tube into a tri sync monitor.

Wait… what?!

I must be misunderstanding what’s going on here…

This is new and open source hardware that can turn any CRT tube into a Tri-Sync??

That’s a huge deal, right?!

Certainly is, if it works well. There have been a few universal chassis before but as far as I know none have been as good as the original chassis. I tried a few some years ago replacing a Nanao but the picture was pretty washed out and the geometry tended not to be even over the screen.

But this is Brilliant news, I wonder how much they will be.

yeah there used to be a few "universal" ones about before from what i remember although universal was subjective wasnt it ! still none would ever come close to the originals but may be an good option if stuck.

It's not a complete chassis.

Pretty neat though. I wonder if it can account for all of the different kinds of deflection yokes there are.

That would be great. Such thing never existed (at least ready available).

Just going by the pic in the Twitter, the fact that it's interfacing with the chassis that's already in the Panasonic means it's missing something.

Not a whole lot of documention in the Github.

https://github.com/tdaede/td-crt

Regardless, it's very neat. Would love to know more about it.
