NeoGeo 29 black monitor with sound !!!

Hi

This NeoGeo 29 when it’s powered on u can hear the sound but no image.

What could be the problem? Any insights?

Does the neck glow on the tube? and have you checked the video input plug where it joins the chassis.

I used to have one of these cabs, really nice cab to play on.

you need id the actual issue first, and a lot depends on the monitor make/model to where the issue may be

the easiest solution is to send the chassis for repair if it is indeed faulty or buy a refurb replacement

The story is I bought this cabinet from yahoo japan (buyee)and sent it to a friend who owns arcade center in japan so he will check it and send it to me, on the post in yahoo it was working but now only sound.

maybe something is loose like the neck card or a connector- difficult to say without being there

i work on most chassis but some i will not touch, all depends on the make/model

That’s what mine was, and it looks the same in your pictures.

Do you have a volt meter? I imagine as Grant does something has come loose in transit, you need to check all the connections and any loose wires and defiantly the neck pcb board.

It's definitely a GMK-29. Funnily enough, I think I just fixed one of these yesterday. New HOT and caps seem to have done it.

caps u mean repairing chassis?

Either something is loose or there is a fault with the monitor chassis. If there is a fault you will need to discharge the monitor, remove the chassis and send it for repair.
